Who we're looking for

headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation and plays a vital role in our community supporting young people and their families with mental health and wellbeing. As part of our growing trans-disciplinary team within EACH, partnering with headspace, we are looking for a Community Engagement Coordinator to oversee and support the headspace Narre Warren and Dandenong Community Engagement workers, the Youth and Carer Peer workforce, the two Youth Advisory Committees and headspace Volunteers.

If you're a Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, Teacher, Careers Counsellor, Youth Worker or Community Development Worker, with experience in consumer engagement involving Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Island communities, CALD, homeless, LGBTIQ or specific services for disengaged young men and women, you might be exactly the person we're looking for!

What you'll be doing

The Community Engagement Coordinator reports to the Team Leader School & Community Partnerships and will provide a range of opportunities for young people to contribute to headspace Narre Warren and Dandenong, both on and off-site. You'll build relationships with the community, actively developing and implementing supportive processes and structures for the lived experience (Youth and Carer Peer worker) roles.

You will be Coordinating all community engagement requests & events for headspace Narre Warren & Dandenong, developing an annual headspace Narre Warren and Dandenong Community Engagement Plan whilst maintaining effective engagement, consultation and communication with all key headspace stakeholders.

Who you'll be working with

Working closely with employment and education services, you will assist with the provision of integrated pathways and programs for young people into study, training, volunteering or social enterprise. Working with other professionals at both Narre Warren and Dandenong, within a variety of disciplines, our team is dedicated to giving young people the best possible support.
